Standing Firm in Peace

Patience is usually defined as “an ability to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay.” In this context, most of us find that we have moments of impatience, but it is not a time of great concern. However, the first meaning of the word is, “the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation or the like.” In the parable of the sower, Jesus helps us understand that there are “annoyances” and “provocations” of life which will try to negatively impact our faith. Today we will consider how to be patient in the Lord.
