I Care Cat!

I CARE CAT!  Who is he?  He is a puppet who comes with Teacher Kathy to visit the children.  He is called I Care Cat because he cares about others and their feelings.   We want to intentionally take time to prepare children to be happy, caring, loving and responsible individuals.

Rule #1: WE LISTEN TO EACH OTHER.
We learned that we listen with our ears, eyes, mouths, bodies, and (of course) our hearts. It feels good when we listen to each other ‘cause that’s what friends do!

RULE # 2: HANDS ARE FOR HELPING, NOT HURTING!
We are learning that our hands can be used to help each other work together to get the job done.  That’s cooperation!  When we work and play together, it’s more fun, and we get the job completed. We also talked about how hands can hurt people. (pushing, hitting, taking things, knocking things down) But we know that Helping Hands make the world a better place.

Rule # 3 We use I – Care Language.
We talk to each other with respect.  I – Care Language lets other people know, in a nice way, what we want and how we feel. When we say the right things we show we care!

Rule # 4  We care about each other’s feelings.
Feelings are a common bond that all of us share.  Feelings link us together as a human family. Talking about feelings helps children to accept and express emotions and to
deal constructively with them.  They learn to respect the feelings of others. When people are nice to us we feel happy!
